Title: Zipp Mobility finds a ‘greener’ way for essential workers to travel
Under these new Covid restrictions, Zip mobility has partnered up with the government to support Aylesbury’s and High Wycombe’s essential workers, giving each area 25 eco-friendly E-scooters each as part of a 12-month trial run.

Once again, some issues are facing essential workers commute to work under Boris’s new lockdown.
Zipp Mobility has come up with a way which helps workers in south east England cope with the reduced transport capacity, and that is a free supply of 45 electronic scooters. The 12-month trial recently began on November 16th in Aylesbury and November 18th in High Wycombe.
This ‘greener’ way is a clever opportunity in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic to keep our planet safe. It ensures there is less air pollution by greatly limiting the number of cars on the road. Additionally, and just as importantly, it also allows for better social distancing.
Zipp Mobility’s e-scooters support the Department for Transport’s priority to provide safe, secure and sustainable transport. One of their key responsibilities is to make UK roads less congested and polluted by promoting lower carbon uses of transportation. Zipp is doing just that.
The scooters are available to those over 16 and that have at least a provisional license . They come fully equipped with additional safety features including lights, a wide riding deck, front suspension and airless tyres. Each scooter also has anti-viral hand grips and will be subject to additional cleaning and sanitising by local Zipp technicians
Nick Naylor, cabinet member for transport , said: “This initiative provides a genuine alternative to using the car or public transport through the Covid lockdown and beyond in our two main towns. I’d urge you to try out these new e-scooters, which not only represent a greener travel alternative, but also help reduce pollution and improve air quality.
How it works:
1. Download the Zipp Mobility App.

5. Park in one of our designed parking bays
Rental costs for the e-scooters are a £1 unlock fee and a charge of 15p per minute. The scooters must be booked and paid for via the Zipp Mobility app.
Zipp mobility was founded in 2019 by Charlie Gleeson, a recent graduate of the Lochlann Quinn School of UCD (University College of Dublin) and is racing to be at the forefront of this exciting industry.
